Our client requires a Medical Director who will report to the
Vice-President of Medical Affairs of a global pharmaceutical company.
This is a permanent full-time position located in Montreal. You will be
responsible for the medical contribution to the success of the company
in support of some blockbuster drugs in the CNS category that are used
in psychiatry. You are considered a key thought leader in your field of
psychiatry and you will be instrumental in the effective functioning and
integration of your department within the Medical Department of the
company. Above all you have an appreciation of the importance of
interacting effectively with the commercial teams in a large
pharmaceutical company in Canada or the United States.
As a seasoned medical practitioner you will play an integral part in
strategy development around the products life cycles as well as health
management and patient care. You will act as both the implementer and
catalyst for the strategic vision and values of the Medical department
and you will influence others to think beyond purely pharmacological
issues so as to impact the commercial value of the company’s key products.
We require a medical doctor with a specialty designation in psychiatry.
You will have a minimum of five years of Clinical research/medical
affairs experience including in-depth knowledge of the mechanics of
clinical development and an awareness of clinical pharmacology and
pharmaco-epidemiology. You will have collaborated with commercial teams
and have experience dealing with Key Opinion Leaders in Psychiatry.
Also, you will have managed a team of scientists and/or physicians and
hence you have well-developed managerial skills as well as business
acumen and experience. You have working knowledge of the current
Regulatory environment and market access strategies.
